Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy: White People Should Shine Shoes of Black People to Express Shame for Racism (VIDEO)

Nothing comes between me and some delicious Chick-fil-A chicken.

I think it is very important that they are a Christian organization and I think that beyond that they are a fantastic company with good food and they treat their employees well.

Nothing is going to make me stop going there, because frankly, I’m not the type of person who lets politics get into my food. Chicken tastes like chicken.

During an appearance at Passion City Church in Atlanta, GA, which is Louie Giglio’s church, Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy shines the shoes of Christian rapper Lecrae in a good faith act of atonement for white sins.

According to Fox News,

The son of Chick-fil-A founder S. Truett Cathy said the company has had “about a dozen Chick-fil-A restaurants vandalized in the last week, but my plea would be for the white people, rather than point fingers at that kind of criminal effort, would be to see the level of frustration and exasperation and almost the sense of hopelessness that exists on some of those activists within the African-American community.”

He started having conversations with employees and realized even at its corporate office there was “conscious and unconscious biases” that made black team members feel like they weren’t “treated with honor, dignity and respect.”

Speaking with Louie Giglio, Passion City founder, and Lecrae, a Christian rapper, Cathy said, “we as caucasians, until we’re willing to just pick up the baton and fight for our black, African-American brothers and sisters, which they are as one human race, we’re shameful. We’re just adding to it.”

Afterward Lecrae jokingly added, “And some stock in Chick-fil-A.”

“I invite folks just to put some words to action here and if we need to find somebody that needs to have their shoes shined, we need to just go right on over and shine their shoes.”

“Whether they got tennis shoes on or not — maybe they got sandals on — it really doesn’t matter. But, there’s a time in which we need to have some personal action here. Maybe we need to give them a hug, too.

“I bought about 1,500 of these [brushes] and I gave them to all our Chick-Fil-A operators and staff a number of years ago.”

“So, any expressions of a contrite heart, of a sense of humility, a sense of shame, a sense of embarrassment begat with an apologetic heart — I think that’s what our world needs to hear today.”
