Obama Takes A Shot At Trump Over Coronavirus, Compares Pandemic to Climate Change

Former President Barack Obama poked his head up out of the sand long enough to throw a jab at President Trump earlier this week.

The former commie-in-chief insinuated that President Trump waited too long to actually do something about the about the coronavirus outbreak and says that he ignored warning from others. This is all of course simply not true, but take a look at what Obama said,

“We’ve seen all too terribly the consequences of those who denied warnings of a pandemic. We can’t afford any more consequences of climate denial. All of us, especially young people, have to demand better of our government at every level and vote this fall.”

Maybe I’m wrong though. Maybe he’s actually talking about himself and that time he waited MONTHS after the World Health Organization declared the H1N1 Swine Flu a pandemic before he declared a national emergency in the U.S.

By this point, it was far too late and over 60 million people had been infected which led to over 12,000 American deaths.

I don’t know where people keep getting the idea that President Trump ignored warnings of the coronavirus being a pandemic. The President took action very early on even against the wishes of many others.

Jim Acosta tried this game the other day also and got shut down by Trump.

“What do you say to Americans who are upset with you over the way you downplayed this crisis?” Acosta asked. He referenced earlier quotes from the president, including when Trump said roughly a month ago, “It’s going to disappear. One day, it’s like a miracle, it will disappear.”

Acosta added, “What do you say to Americans who believe that you got this wrong?”

The president fired back.

“Well, it will go away and I do want them to stay calm, and we are doing a great job,” Trump responded. “If you look at those individual statements, they’re all true. Stay calm, it will go away — you know that it is going away, and… we’re going to have a great victory. And, it’s people like you and CNN that say things like that — it’s why people just don’t want to listen to CNN anymore. You could ask a normal question.”

The president then defended his rhetoric, “The statements I’ve made are — I want to keep the country calm. I don’t want panic in the country. I can cause panic much better than even you. I would make you look like a minor-league player, but you know what? I don’t want to do that. I want to have our country be calm and strong and fight and win, and it will go away.”
