AOC Triggers the Wrong People With Her Spin on Anti-Trans Bill

Democrat lawmakers in Washington, D.C., argued against the GOP-led Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act last week. They claimed the law could lead to sexual predators performing genital exams on young girls.

Republicans dismissed the claims, stating the bill requires proof of birth gender through a birth certificate. They emphasized no genital inspections would be necessary.

Prominent Democrats like House Minority Leader Rep. Hakeem Jeffries and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez used the sexual predator argument on the House floor. Their stance has alienated some voters, leading them to leave the party.

Gary Francione, a Rutgers law professor and lifelong Democrat, was among them. He voted for Vice President Kamala Harris in November but unregistered as a Democrat after the recent hearing.

Francione, an advocate for LGBTQ and abortion rights, said the Democrats’ arguments offended him deeply. “It screamed out lack of integrity, lack of honesty,” Francione told Fox News Digital. “You’ve lost the game when you insult others and insinuate they’re child molesters.”

He said many Democrats he knows feel the same way and plan to leave the party. “The vast majority are very unhappy and feel the party has lost its way,” he added.

Francione announced his decision in a viral post on X, receiving widespread support. “This is when I drew the line,” one user replied. Another said, “Welcome to the club.”

He also criticized trans athletes competing against females, calling it “discriminatory” and the Democrats’ argument “insane.” He stated, “These girls work hard, and then men take things away from them.”

Even former U.S. Olympic cyclist Inga Thompson expressed frustration. A lifelong Democrat, she supported President Trump’s stance on protecting women in sports.

Democrat representatives labeled the bill the “House GOP Child Predator Empowerment Act.” Leaders like Ocasio-Cortez dismissed the lack of genital inspection language, arguing, “No enforcement mechanism opens the door to every enforcement mechanism.”

Yet, many Democrats opposed the bill on the false premise it would empower predators. Few advocated for trans athletes’ inclusion in women’s sports, a stance that hurt them in November’s elections.

Rep. Seth Moulton opposed trans inclusion but still voted against the bill, citing privacy concerns. Meanwhile, two Texas Democrats, Reps. Henry Cuellar and Vicente Gonzales, voted in favor of the bill, reflecting growing voter dissatisfaction with their party.

Surveys reveal most Americans, including Democrats, oppose transgender athletes in women’s sports. A New York Times/Ipsos poll found 67% of Democrats don’t support it. Exit polls also showed voter concern over the issue played a significant role in November’s results.

Francione believes the party has failed its constituents. “Progressives have created a grievance Olympics,” he said. “It doesn’t work.”
