‘You’re Next, ‘Motherf***er’: Olbermann Deletes Threatening Social Media Post

Keith Olbermann is facing backlash after posting — then deleting — a message on X that appeared to threaten CNN commentator Scott Jennings.

Screenshots show the former ESPN and MSNBC host replying to one of Jennings’ tweets with, “You’re next, motherf***er.” He followed it with, “But keep mugging to the camera.”

The posts vanished from Olbermann’s account, but Jennings reposted the screenshot and tagged FBI Director Kash Patel. It’s unclear exactly which tweet Olbermann was responding to.

One of Jennings’ recent posts mocked Democrats upset over Jimmy Kimmel’s suspension. “So basically his employer suspended him for being an insensitive prick, and we don’t live in an authoritarian regime? Got it,” Jennings wrote.

The incident comes at a time of heightened tension following the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk. While many mourned Kirk’s death, some Democrats online celebrated.

During the 2024 election, partisan rhetoric ran hot. Kamala Harris labeled Donald Trump a “fascist,” and Joe Biden said Trump should be “locked up.”

A recent Napolitan News Service poll showed troubling numbers. Among those 18 to 34, 26% said America is “better off now that Charlie Kirk has been killed.” Among Democrats, 24% agreed.

As of Monday evening, Olbermann has not responded to the uproar over his posts.
