Jesse Watters stirred things up on Fox News when he told Jessica Tarlov not to panic about tariffs. He quoted Trump and brushed off concerns. That didn’t sit well with Tarlov, who pushed back hard.
Tarlov called out Trump’s new reciprocal tariffs, affecting about 60 countries. She pointed out that even though China wasn’t included in the pause, the 10% baseline tariff still stands. “It’ll jack up prices,” she said.
Small business owners and investors who backed Trump are now upset, Tarlov claimed. “I can’t use the expletive that Ken Langone used,” she said, but emphasized that economic heavyweights are worried. Even Walmart, she noted, can’t do its regular forecasting anymore.
Judge Jeanine Pirro jumped in, trying to counter Tarlov’s claims. Tarlov admitted the market had taken a hit, but mentioned it had a “rebound day” on Tuesday. Then Pirro tossed it to Watters.
“She’s just a panicin’,” Watters said with a grin. “Sit back and be cool, Jessica. You can’t get so freaked out.” Tarlov wasn’t having it. “Do you know how obnoxious it is to tell a small business owner to ‘be cool’?” she shot back.
Trump had posted on Truth Social: “BE COOL! Everything is going to work out well.” Watters echoed that. “Jessica, I’m telling you to be cool,” he said. “I’ll be around Sunday, and I’ll buy the whole place up.” He insisted the chaos would pay off. “You haven’t been here,” he added.
Since April 2, several countries were hit with the 10% tariff, and others, like China, got hit harder. Trump claimed that over 75 countries reached out to start negotiations. Departments like Commerce, Treasury, and USTR are all involved.
Watters didn’t stop there. He pointed out Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer had come to the White House. Trump signed an executive order to support her state’s infrastructure. “Biden didn’t do it. Obama didn’t do it. He did it,” Watters said.
He praised Trump for taking action. “Big Gretch was there to thank him,” he told Tarlov. “You know why? He’s problem solving.” Watters closed with a jab at older Democrats. “They squandered power and spent trillions. Nothing to show for it.”
