HomeNews WireWATCH: Pete Buttigieg’s Humiliating Response About Kobe Bryant's Death Editor January 29, 2020 Even if you're not a huge sports fan, you very likely know who Kobe Bryant was and what sport he played. Kobe was a basketball legend However, it seems that Democratic Presidential candidate, Pete Buttigieg doesn't know anything about Kobe beyond maybe a couple talking points in case he came up during a rally. Buttigieg was trying to make himself look good and try to win some support from voters but he made himself look like a fool because he didn't even know what sport Kobe played. Either that or he has no idea how basketball works. Hew as asked what he thought about the news of Kobe's death and this is what his response was: "It's shocking and I think we are all in shock about what happened," Buttigieg said. "And, I think it's a reminder that our lives are often touched by people we never even meet, and there are millions of people not just in Los Angeles but around the world mourning because they were inspired by what he did on the field, what he meant off the field." "It's also, of course, such a tough human moment to think about… that he was spending time with his daughter. Her loss is unthinkable as it is of everybody on that helicopter. I think all of America is united in mourning and sending our love and our thoughts and, of course, our prayers to the families." Watch: I'm not a big sports guy, but unlike Pete Buttigieg, I do know that Kobe Bryant was in the NBA and that basketball is played on a court, not a "field." pic.twitter.com/51FLgFk103 — Mark Dice (@MarkDice) January 27, 2020 Buttigieg was mocked by a lot of people over his blunder. "He loved watching him score all those touchdowns for the Yankees" “They were inspired by what he did on the field, what he meant off the field” — Pete Buttigieg on Kobe Bryant, who played basketball pic.twitter.com/nv67WSz4UK — Aaron Rupar (@atrupar) January 27, 2020 "My favorite Kobe highlights were the touchdowns he hit over the fence at Fenway Stadium. One goal!" Pete Buttigieg starts off his Fox News town hall being asked about Kobe Bryant and talking about people being inspired by what Kobe did "on the field and off the field" — Ben Jacobs (@Bencjacobs) January 27, 2020 I can't say he doesn't deserve it, I mean that is a really big mistake to make. I understand that when people get nervous they may fumble their words, but there was zero pressure in this question.
