UNBELIEVABLE! Minneapolis City Council President Says Calling the Police on Burglars “Comes from a Place of Privilege” (VIDEO)

It's been about two weeks now since the protests and riots started in Minneapolis and then spread to cities across the country.

So far, police and mayors in the Democrat-controlled cities have been letting them win.

Now it looks like the city is going to make a terrible decision and are intending on disbanding their police department.

This decision is mostly coming from the Minneapolis City Council. The President of the council recently spoke with Alisyn Camerota on CNN to talk about the decision.

“We are here today because George Floyd was killed by the Minneapolis Police Department. We are also here because, here in Minneapolis and in cities across the United States, it is clear that our existing system of policing and public safety isn’t working for so many of our neighbors,” Minneapolis City Council President Lisa Bender said in a written statement Sunday, obtained by the Appeal. “Our efforts at incremental reform have failed.”

Camerota then asked, "What if in the middle of the night my home is broken into. Who do I call?"

BENDER: "Yes, I hear that loud and clear from a lot of my neighbors. And I know — and myself, too, and I know that that comes from a place of privilege."

She then mentions imagining the scenario where more harm is done if police are called. The facts are that this isn't the case the great majority of the time.

Umm…let me show you something. This is Minneapolis WITH police

What do you really expect it will look like to get rid of the police?

What I think would work better is to dial back some of the superpowers that police have such as qualified immunity. Stop giving them such power to do whatever they want.
