Trump Changes Weekend Football Game Plans With Campaign Intensifying

Former President Trump changed his plans. He was supposed to attend Penn State’s football game against Ohio State over the weekend. However, his campaign announced on Wednesday that he won’t be there.

A university spokesperson confirmed Trump’s absence. Instead, he’s scheduled for a campaign rally at 4 p.m. Saturday in Virginia. The football game kicks off at noon ET.

Trump is usually a fixture at UFC events. This election season, he’s only made it to two football games. Earlier this season, he attended Alabama’s big win over Georgia in Tuscaloosa.

He also showed up at the Steelers’ decisive victory against the New York Jets at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh. Former Steelers stars Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell were at a rally for Trump the same Saturday.

In a Fox News national survey from October 16, Trump led Harris by two points. But in seven key battleground states, Harris is ahead by six points. This margin falls within the subsample’s margin of error.

Both candidates are tied at 49% among voters in counties where the 2020 Biden-Trump margin was less than 10 points. Trump’s lead comes from a stronger performance in counties he won by over 10 points in 2020.

The latest Fox News Power Rankings label the presidential race a toss-up. Neither candidate has the 270 electoral votes needed to win. They will need to secure the right combination of six toss-up states, which together are worth a total of 82 electoral votes.
