Trump Admin Makes Unprecedented Move in Handling of Jeffrey Epstein Case

The Department of Justice is signaling a major shift in the Jeffrey Epstein investigation, with Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche confirming outreach to Ghislaine Maxwell to explore potential cooperation.

Blanche said Tuesday that, under new guidance from Attorney General Pam Bondi, the DOJ is now willing to hear what Maxwell might reveal about uncharged individuals connected to Epstein’s sex trafficking network.

“This Department of Justice does not shy away from uncomfortable truths, nor from the responsibility to pursue justice wherever the facts may lead,” Blanche posted on X.

Meanwhile, the House Oversight Committee voted to subpoena Maxwell, requiring her to sit for a sworn deposition. A committee source told Fox News that lawmakers are moving quickly and will coordinate with the DOJ and Bureau of Prisons to schedule the session.

Blanche reiterated a joint July 6 statement from the DOJ and FBI claiming that a comprehensive review of FBI files related to Epstein turned up no new evidence to support charges against additional parties.

The memo, signed by FBI Director Kash Patel and Deputy Director Dan Bongino, sparked backlash from critics who said the public deserves full transparency on the case.

President Donald Trump, Attorney General Bondi, and FBI officials had all previously vowed to release all Epstein-related documents to the public.

Now, with Maxwell potentially ready to talk, the Epstein investigation could see renewed momentum — and possible revelations that extend beyond the original case.
