Stephen A. Smith Shoots it Straight With Jasmine Crockett

SiriusXM host Stephen A. Smith isn’t backing down. On his show Straight Shooter Monday, Smith doubled down on his criticism of Democratic Rep. Jasmine Crockett — while insisting he still respects her and wants her to succeed.

Smith said his issue isn’t with Crockett’s intelligence or passion, but with her approach. “This educated, brilliant black woman representing over 750,000 people is engaging in rhetoric for the streets,” he said. “That’s fine when you’re in the streets — but it doesn’t work at the negotiating table or on Capitol Hill.”

He warned that Crockett’s fiery style only helps her political opponents. “You literally have Republicans saying, ‘Please, please, please put her on camera!’” Smith explained. “They know it wins for them.”

Smith said he admires Crockett’s courage and intellect but questioned whether her tactics actually help her constituents. “Isn’t it about winning too? Ain’t it about getting it done?” he asked.

Crockett has drawn attention for her inflammatory remarks, calling President Trump a “wannabe Hitler” and Texas Gov. Greg Abbott “Governor Hot Wheels.”

Smith said Crockett’s constant anti-Trump messaging might make headlines, but it doesn’t move legislation. “When I hear Jasmine Crockett talking about how she’s against all things Trump — is that legislating?” he said. “Your job is to work with whoever’s in office and figure out how to get something done for your people.”

Smith’s message was clear: passion is good — but results matter more.
