Sen. John Fetterman Supports President Trump on Another Big Issue

Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., broke ranks with his party on Monday, signaling his full support for potential military intervention in Iran. Speaking on “The Record With Greta Van Susteren,” the Pennsylvania senator said he would back President Donald Trump if the administration decides to carry out targeted strikes against the Islamic regime.

Fetterman cited the regime’s brutal crackdown on its own citizens as the primary justification for U.S. action. With the death toll in Iran reportedly climbing past 600, Fetterman argued that the world cannot stand by while the theocratic government “kills, tortures, and disappears” its people.

“I actually support if he decides to make some kind of very targeted or very specific kinds of limited strikes,” Fetterman said. “I absolutely support that.”

A “Midnight Hammer” Precedent

The senator pointed to the success of Operation Midnight Hammer in June 2025 as a template for future action. During that mission, U.S. B-2 Spirit stealth bombers and Tomahawk missiles decimated Iran’s nuclear sites at Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.

Fetterman praised those strikes for preventing a nuclear-armed Iran, which he believes would have fundamentally destabilized the Middle East. He argued that precision hits against the regime’s “repressive apparatus” would be no different from the mission that neutralized their nuclear capabilities.

“How much different would the Middle East be right now if Iran was able to acknowledge, ‘Hey, we’ve got a nuclear bomb’?” Fetterman asked.

Breaking With The Democratic Establishment

Fetterman’s comments put him at odds with many high-ranking Democrats in WASHINGTON who have warned that further military action could lead to an all-out regional war. While many in his party have focused on diplomatic pressure and criticized Trump’s “America First” foreign policy, Fetterman insisted his stance is rooted in national security rather than partisan loyalty.

“Just because I might be a Democrat — I actually think what he’s done, whether in Israel or whether in Iran, I fully agree with that,” he stated.

The senator’s endorsement of the President’s strategy comes as the DOJ and DHS continue to monitor potential retaliatory threats within the United States. Despite the political risks, Fetterman remains one of the few prominent blue voices supporting the administration’s “Locked and Loaded” posture toward Tehran.
