Proud Boys Hashtag Gets Hijacked By Liberals on Twitter

Ever since the first presidential debate, the left has been constantly taking the Proud Boys organization.

The group received hate in the past, but it was because they were fighting back against Antifa.

As I'm sure you remember, Chris Wallace asked President Trump to denounce white supremacy, which he has already done several times in the past and even did during the debate.

The President asked for a specific group and as you know Joe Biden blurted out Proud Boys which the President told to, "Stand back and stand by."

Liberals ate that up and I know some conservatives who thought it wasn't the best thing he could have said (which I can acknowledge his language could have been better), but to me, it was clear he was trying to mimic the language used by Wallace and simply used the wrong phrasing.

Since that time, the Proud Boys themselves came out and condemned white supremacy. One of the leaders of the group who did so is a black man and another from another chapter of the group is a black Cuban if I'm not mistaken. Liberals seem to forget what white supremacy actually is.

Regardless, the left hates the Proud Boys because they support President Trump and fight back against Antifa and Black Lives Matter.

One of the latest attacks against the group comes virtually through Twitter. The hashtag was hijacked and flooded Twitter with photos of gay men and gay memes.

Matt Dechaine, one of the men who pitched in with photos of himself and his husband in efforts to overtake the hashtag, said his goal was simply to spread joy.

"Seeing the hashtag was so uplifting," Dechaine, who is from England, told CNN.

"It feels like the movement for positive change for all is gathering momentum all the time and I'm glad to be a small part of it. By coming together rooted in respect and love for each other, the world can be so much better!"

But Enrique Tarrio, the leader of the Proud Boys, said he doesn't see what the men are trying to accomplish.

"I think it's hysterical," Tarrio told CNN. "This isn't something that's offensive to us. It's not an insult. We aren't homophobic. We don't care who people sleep with. People think it's going to bother us. It doesn't."

He added, "One of the messages they want to send with this is that they're trying to drown out our supporters, they're trying to silence us. …

When you're trying to drown out other people's thoughts, I don't think there's anything progressive about that. Why don't these people just engage?"

When the opposing side is unwilling to listen and actually have a conversation, progress will never be made.
