The 2024 Olympics opening ceremony in Paris sparked international outrage. The event featured drag-queen themed imagery of religious and historical figures.
Performances included a headless Marie Antoinette singing with her severed head in her hands. She wore drag-style makeup. Drag queens were a recurring theme throughout the ceremonies. Three drag queens were among the 10,000 torchbearers who relayed the Olympic flame from Greece to Paris.
A new display on Friday featured performers parodying “The Last Supper.” This included drag queens and a large woman in an aureole halo crown. The performance referenced Leonardo da Vinci’s famous painting.
Many internationally known political figures condemned the display. They saw it as a sign of cultural rot in Western Civilization.
“Men in wigs front & center at the Olympic Games,” wrote OutKick’s Riley Gaines on social media. “No one ever tell me this group is ‘oppressed’ or ‘marginalized’ again.”
Tesla founder Elon Musk criticized the display, calling it “extremely disrespectful to Christians.” NFL player Harrison Butker quoted scripture to condemn it, writing, “Be not deceived, God is not mocked.”
Ex-transgender influencer Oli London described the scene. “Olympics openly mocks Jesus’ Last Supper,” he said. “Drag queens played the disciples while a plus-size woman symbolized Jesus.”
“The Olympics has basically turned into one long drag show,” wrote Libs of TikTok. “The Olympics has gone completely woke.”
Video journalist Nick Sortor was shocked. “What the hell is going on at the Olympics?” he wrote. “No wonder nobody bothers watching anymore.”
Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton commented. “The transnational Left have contempt for Western civilization,” he said.
Radio host Clint Russell was critical. “Opening your event by replacing Jesus and the disciples with men in drag,” he said. “There are 2.4 billion Christians on earth. Apparently, the Olympics wanted to declare loudly to all of them, right out of the gate, NOT WELCOME.”
Canadian conservative commentator Harrison Faulkner was puzzled. “Wtf is going on at the Olympics opening ceremony?” he asked.
Juanita Broaddrick, who accused former President Bill Clinton of raping her, responded to the display. “Paris had fallen before the Olympics,” she said. “This is just a continuation of it.”
Finance and culture commentator Wall Street Silver criticized modern France. “At least China showed the best of their country during their Olympics,” he noted. “France seems determined to show the weakest and worst parts of their country.”
Army veteran and radio host Bob Lonsberry offered his perspective. “Some of this might explain why so many people left Europe to settle in the United States,” he wrote.
Conservative French politician Marion Maréchal spoke out. “This polarizing display does not represent French people like myself,” she warned. “To all the Christians of the world who felt insulted by this drag queen parody, know it is not France speaking but a left-wing minority. #notinmyname,” she wrote.
