Multiple GOP Senators Turning on Trump, Say They Want This

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has made his wishes very clear when it comes to the impeachment trial. He's dedicated to the President and is tired of the Democrats' silly games.

McConnell has on multiple occasions expressed his rejection of the idea of calling witnesses during the impeachment trial. It's looking like he may not get that wish though as it appears that multiple Republican senators would like to have witnesses called.

Honestly, I think this is going to backfire on the Democrats in a massive way because the Republicans are going to want the Bidens, the whistleblower, and Adam Schiff all to testify.

If all the Republicans would vote against having witnesses it would be no problem, but it doesn't look like there are enough votes because it seems like some Republicans want to hear what John Bolton has to say.

On NPR on Monday, Senator Angus King said:

“I’ll be amazed if there is a strong push to say no, we’re not going to allow John Bolton. It’s one thing to say we don’t know what he’s going to say. We don’t really need to hear from him. But if there is some indication that he has information that bears directly on the heart of the case, to willfully say we don’t want to hear that, to me basically just undermines the idea that this is a real trial.”

When asked if four Republicans would vote to hear Bolton, King said, “I think there will be more than four. My bold prediction is there will be five or ten.”

Supposedly, Bolton’s book alleges that Donald Trump did condition certain aspects of national foreign policy relations with Ukraine on their cooperating in a manner politically advantageous to the President, but if it's just his opinion and there is no evidence, then it's only one man's word and cannot be corroborated.
