Missouri Lawmaker Called to Resign After Threats Against Trump

Democrats get more unpleasant and unruly by the day. Now on lawmaker is learning the hard way that there are consequences for action and words.

Democratic state Sen. Maria Chappelle-Nadal is being called to resign from her position after posting a comment on social media calling for the assassination of President Trump

“On my personal Facebook, I put up a statement saying that I really hate Trump. He’s causing trauma and nightmares. That was my original post,” she said. “A whole bunch of people responded to that.”

Later in the thread, she commented, “I hope Trump is assassinated!”

It wasn't too long before she realized that she had royally messed up and deleted the comment. But it was already too late. Once someone of stature says something like that on the internet, it's there forever, especially if they have enemies watching them.

Chappelle-Nadal tried to justify her words, “It was wrong for me to post that. But I am not going to shy away from the damage this president is causing.”

She even tried claiming that she didn't mean what she put up. If she didn't mean it, why say it? The Bible actually has an answer for that question, "For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks."

According to the Washington Post,

“There are people who are afraid of white supremacists,” she added. “There are people who are having nightmares. There are people who are afraid of going out in the streets. It’s worse than even Ferguson.”

Though the senator quickly deleted the comment, an image of the statement swept social media, catching the attention of the Secret Service and prompting calls for her to step down.

The Secret Service said it is “looking into the comments,” adding that all threats made against the president, vice president and other protected people are investigated, whether the threats are direct, implied or made in passing, according to the Associated Press.

She should be removed from her position, locked up, and left there to think about how terrible she is.
