Melania Trump Opens Up On ‘The Five: ‘It’s time’ for people to hear from me

Melania Trump admitted she’s worried about her husband’s safety as the November election nears. She blamed Democrats for creating what she called a “toxic atmosphere.”

“They call him a threat to democracy. Let’s ask, who is really the threat?” she said on “The Five.” She also criticized efforts to remove him from ballots and silence him.

“Of course, I’m afraid. It’s a toxic, toxic atmosphere,” she added.

Former President Trump has already faced two assassination attempts. The first was in July when a shooter grazed his ear in Butler, Pa. The second, in September, involved a man spotted with a rifle near Trump’s golf course in Florida.

Besides discussing the threats, Melania also shared her goals for a potential return to the White House. She promised to continue her “Be Best” and “Fostering the Future” programs for children and women.

She started “Fostering the Future” after leaving the White House in 2021. It provides scholarships and opportunities for foster children.

“I have many students now. We need to support them so they can get good jobs and give back,” she said.

When asked what message she has for women unsure about voting for her husband, she pointed to his track record. “The country was in great shape, safe, and prosperous. He would bring that back,” she said.

She also shared a more personal side of the former president. “He’s warm, fun, and very passionate about this country,” Melania said, referring to her newly released memoir.

“All he wants is to make the country safe so people can enjoy life and have jobs,” she added.
