The biggest loser in the debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Trump was ABC News. The moderators, David Muir and Linsey Davis, embarrassed themselves. They fact-checked Trump in real time while allowing Harris to spread lies unchecked.
Social media lit up early, especially from commentators on the right. Many called it the most one-sided debate in history.
Harris said things that should have been fact-checked but weren’t. She talked about Project 2025 like it was Trump’s manifesto and claimed he would pass a nationwide abortion ban. She brought up the debunked Charlottesville comment about “fine people on both sides.”
She said Trump oversaw the worst unemployment since the Great Depression, which was caused by the pandemic. Harris also falsely claimed that Trump opposed IVF. She denied ever calling for gun confiscation, though videos say otherwise.
Harris even repeated the falsehood that Trump’s tax cuts only helped the rich. Another lie? She claimed she and Biden created 800,000 manufacturing jobs, which isn’t true.
There were more lies. Harris misrepresented both her record and Trump’s. Yet, she wasn’t challenged.
The liberal media is panicking now that Harris’ popularity has dropped. Trump, in some polls, has pulled ahead.
Harris’ reluctance to commit to policies and refusal to do solo interviews has left voters in the dark. The debate was crucial, but she deflected most questions and offered little insight into her views.
The moderators should have pressed her for answers, but they didn’t. Instead, they let her talk in vague, feel-good terms about uniting the country. Sound familiar?
