Comedian Kathy Griffin urged fans to catch her comedy show before President-elect Donald Trump locks her up during his second term.
Griffin appeared on Chicago’s WGN radio Tuesday to promote her tour, “My Life on the PTSD-List.” She joked about her infamous 2017 photo featuring a fake severed Trump head, which she said got her placed on the “no-fly list.”
She quipped things could escalate further under Trump’s return.
“Come see me before I’m in one of those internment camps,” Griffin joked.
Griffin claimed she’s clearly on Trump’s enemies list.
“He was very, very scared when I did a parody photo of him with a Halloween mask and a lot of ketchup,” she said. “And he brings up my name every chance he gets.”
She recalled knowing Trump for 30 years, dating back to her Bravo days and his time on NBC’s “The Apprentice.” While acknowledging he was kind to her late friend Joan Rivers, she warned people to take him seriously.
“Most of us thought he was a harmless buffoon, but when he talks about building camps for his enemies, he might not be kidding,” she said. “I’m staying put, though. I have four doggies and great friends, and I love it here.”
Griffin dismissed claims Trump has ever proposed internment camps. She referenced accusations raised by political ads but stressed her patriotism.
“I performed for soldiers in Uzbekistan, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Don’t tell me I’m not a patriot, darn it,” she said.
Her controversial photo led to severe backlash and a Secret Service investigation. Griffin was accused of conspiring to murder the then-president.
She now claims the incident permanently cost her at least a third of her audience.
