HomeNews WireJoy Behar Gives Democrats A Lesson On How To Take Guns From Americans Editor November 6, 2019 Joy Behar from ABC's "The View" gave the Democrats some advice on how they should be going about confiscating our guns and thereby stripping us of our second amendment rights. But her advice is so stupid and dangerous that it would really be best for her to keep her thoughts to herself before she gets someone hurt or killed. Behar said, “They should not tell everything they’re going to do. Like if you are going to take people’s guns away, wait until you get elected and then take the guns away. Don’t tell them ahead of time.” According to The Daily Wire, Behar’s remarks arose during a segment where the panel was discussing former Rep. Beto O’Rourke’s (D-TX) decision to end his presidential campaign and drop out of the race for the Democratic nomination. O’Rourke, who was initially hesitant to reveal where he stood on a host of issues in the onset of his presidential run, pivoted to the far-left after relaunching his campaign over the summer. Most notably, the former Texas lawmaker was the first major 2020 Democratic presidential candidate to call for a nationwide mandatory gun confiscation program for all so-called “assault weapons.” The proposal has been a divisive topic for the Democratic Party. While O’Rourke’s declaration that “Hell, yes, we’re going to take away your AR-15 [and] your AK-47” has received massive applause from his left-wing supporters, many Democratic lawmakers have since been distancing themselves. Democrats, including those in leadership, have largely been sounding the alarm that such an anti-Second Amendment idea will backfire and simply fire up the Republican base. I want to quickly mention two things about her comments: First, the concept of not telling Americans that you're going to take away their guns if you win the election is a massive problem. But let's think about why. Why would that be the best thing for a Democrat to do? It's because most Americans do not want their guns taken away. If the majority of Americans were in favor of getting rid of guns, there would be no concern. But as it is, most people are against it. Behar is saying that the views of the minority should override those of the majority of the nation. That's not a democracy and that's not how our country operates. This has become such a critical problem with Democrats; they only want to do what they want to do. They have their own agenda and won't let anyone stop them from achieving it. Secondly, I'm sure you've seen videos of police showing up somewhere unannounced either sneaking around someone's property at night with a gun, or as part of a SWAT team. What usually happens in those situations? Someone gets killed or shot. Not a good idea.
