Ilhan Omar SLAMS Meghan McCain After "Online Attacks" Against Her

We all know the story of Rep. Ilhan Omar marrying her brother. There has been speculation as to why exactly, but now someone has come forward claiming to know exactly why she did it, and it's someone from the Somali community.

The informant said that Omar did it to keep her brother in the US and so he could go to school. I'll touch back on that more in just a minute.

But now, Omar is attacking Meghan McCain from 'The View' and accusing her of anti-Muslim smears against her online.

“The same people who chastise the progressive movement regularly traffic in anti-Muslim smears and hate speech against me and those I represent. It’s almost as if they don't genuinely care about online harassment."

McCain has also recently criticized "Bernie Bros", that is, supporters of Bernie Sanders, who Omar has come out and endorsed.

After Sanders was criticized at Wednesday’s Democratic debate of not effectively curbing social media harassment by some of his most aggressive supporters, McCain weighed in on Twitter.

“Bernie – your army of Bernie bro’s are the worst in all of the internet and every woman on both sides knows it," McCain wrote. "Mysoginistic, abusive and inspired by you. There’s no army of Pete bots or Biden bots abusing women!”

Omar then tweeted a screenshot of McCain’s tweet plus another in which the TV host retweeted an unsubstantiated claim that Omar had married her own brother.

"How is this not a bigger deal?" McCain wrote.

The congresswoman has strenuously denied the claim, which she calls “disgusting lies.” (Fox News)

According to The Daily Mail, Abdihakim Osman is the first person to go on record to speak of how Omar said she wanted to get her brother papers so he could stay in the United States, at a time when she was married to her first husband Ahmed Hirsi,

“People began noticing that Ilhan and Southside (Hirsi) were often with a very effeminate young guy [Ahmed Elmi],’ He was very feminine in the way he dressed — he would wear light lipstick and pink clothes and very, very, short shorts in the summer. People started whispering about him.”

“[Hirsi] and Ilhan both told me it was Ilhan’s brother and he had been living in London but he was mixing with what were seen as bad influences that the family did not like. So they sent him to Minneapolis as ‘rehab’.”

“She said she needed to get papers for her brother to go to school. We all thought she was just getting papers together to allow him to stay in this country. Once she had the papers they could apply for student loans. They both moved to North Dakota to go to school but she was still married to [Hirsi]. In the Somali way, the only marriage that mattered was the one in the mosque.”

“When [Hirsi] and Ilhan got married, a lot of people were invited. It was a big Islamic wedding uniting two large clans in the Minneapolis community. When she married Elmi, no one even knew about it.”
