Gov. Gavin Newsom Backs Down Off Restrictions After Threat From President Trump

On Monday, President Trump held a conference call with the governors across the country. He told them how he was pretty satisfied with how they have been making progress and moving forward with lifting certain coronavirus restrictions.

He did, however, give them a warning. He told them that is he disagrees wit their plans to stall and delay reopening the country, he would step in and fix it.

“The governors are making their decisions, and want to make their decisions, and that’s the way I want it to, and we will step in if we see something going wrong, or if we disagree, and some people say that’s nice, and some people say I shouldn’t be doing that, but we’re going to do it if we see something wrong,” Trump said.

“If you have any problem, let me know please, but it seems that the governors are largely happy. And I think I can say extraordinarily happy with respect to what we’ve done.”

Governor Gavin Newsome said that he was scared about a third wave of the virus and that he wasn't sure when the state would begin reopening.

Well, it wasn't even 24-hours after the call that Newsom had backed down because of President Trump.

Newsom then decided to relax his restrictions and hinted that pro sports could return as early as June, without fans.

The announcement is significantly different then what California officials were saying a week ago, the Associated Press reports:

While retail businesses may open for curbside pickup statewide, the new criteria would let counties seek state approval to allow dining in restaurants and other services to reopen. Newsom also suggested it may only be a matter of weeks before people can get their hair cut or worship in a church, which have been flashpoints in the fight over reopening.

“Bottom line is: People can go at their own pace, and we are empowering our local health directors and county officials that understand their local communities and conditions,” Newsom said. “We’re going to start seeing a lot more activity, let’s just make sure we do it thoughtfully and very, very strategically.”

Report: Doctors Warn Continued Lockdown Dangerous, Deadly

In the beginning, the government and media pushed the narrative that we were social distancing and staying home in order to "flatten the curve." Flattening the curve then quickly turned into tyranny and communism.

Now doctors are warning that a continued lockdown is not only dangerous, but could also be deadly. As more reports come out, we are learning that the virus is not as dangerous as we thought in the beginning. So now, it is fear and power hungry leaders keeping us in lockdown, not a virus.
