GOP Senator Cancels Subpoena Vote In The Biden-Burisma Investigation, Has Nothing To Do With The Coronavirus

Conservatives were extremely shocked when Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee Chairman Ron Johnson canceled a subpoena vote after hyping up the vote last week that takes a look into the Biden-Burisma investigation in hopes of actually making some decent progress.

“Out of an abundance of caution, and to allow time for you to receive additional briefings, I will postpone a vote to subpoena records and an appearance from former Blue Star Strategies consultant Andrii Telizhenko about his work for the lobbying firm,” Johnson said in a note to committee members.

Johnson told reporters that the vote was being canceled because of “some discrepancies brought up in what we had been told.”

"There were issues raised," Johnson said. "There were discrepancies in what had been told in one briefing versus the next briefing, and then even greater discrepancies in staff notes."

The committee had been poised to vote Wednesday afternoon to subpoena Telizhenko for documents and an interview. Johnson characterized him as willing to participate with the committee's investigation but currently, he is barred by a nondisclosure agreement.

When Johnson suddenly decided to hold back the vote, this created some heavy tension between Republicans and Democrats alike who are on the committee. The decision was even made after it was expected to was along party lines after convincing Mitt Romney to vote in favor of the subpoena. Of course, he initially didn't want to and that was likely because he has some connections there as well.

Instead, Johnson said he would rather subpoena Ble Star Strategies as a whole organization and win over the support of Sen. Gary Peters because he knew that if he pushed the vote now he wouldn't have his support.

So what? It still would have passed and he's worried about one lousy Democrat? Give me a break.

Forget about the Democrats and let's start making some progress because if we just always waited for the Democrats to join us, then we would absolutely never get anything accomplished.
