Democrats Lose Their Mind After CBS Cancels Late Night Show

Rahm Emanuel once said, “Never let a serious crisis go to waste.” Democrats seem to be taking that advice — even when the “crisis” is just a canceled late-night show.

After CBS announced the end of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, several top Democrats cried foul. They claimed the move was politically motivated.

Colbert had recently accused CBS’s parent company, Paramount, of bribing President Trump. He cited an $8.4 billion merger deal with Skydance and a settlement payment to Trump.

Connecticut Sen. Chris Murphy called the timing suspicious. He warned that the U.S. is becoming a “censorship state” under Trump’s leadership.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries said Colbert refused to bow to a “wannabe king.” Sen. Bernie Sanders chimed in too, calling Colbert “an extraordinary talent.”

But Paramount says the cancellation was all about the numbers — not politics.

Ratings for The Late Show peaked in 2018. Since then, viewership has dropped by over a million, and ad revenue fell 40%, according to Reuters.

The show had reportedly been losing $40 million a year — making a financial decision far more likely than a political one.
