“Day 24 Of Agony”: Savannah Guthrie Massive Reward For Return Of Missing Mother

Savannah Guthrie shared a heartbreaking message Tuesday on Instagram, offering $1 million for the return of her mother, Nancy Guthrie, even if she is deceased. The NBC anchor released an emotional video marking the 24th day since her 84-year-old mother was abducted from her Arizona home in the “dark of night.” Guthrie admitted for the first time that she has made peace with the fact that her mother may have already passed away.

“Every hour and minute and second and every long night has been agony since then—of worrying about her, fearing for her, aching for her, and most of all, just missing her… missing her,” Guthrie said. She explained that the family reward will be paid for the “recovery” of her mother, consistent with FBI criteria. Guthrie emphasized that while she still believes in a miracle, she realizes Nancy may have already “gone home to the Lord.”

Nancy Guthrie was last seen on January 31, 2026, and was reported missing the following morning after failing to attend a virtual church service. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos believes she was taken against her will, citing bloodstains found on the porch of her Catalina Foothills residence. The FBI recently released surveillance footage showing a masked, armed individual at her doorstep on the night of the disappearance.

The investigation has been plagued by “clunky” coordination between local authorities and federal agents. Reports have surfaced of a “tussle” between Sheriff Nanos and the FBI, with some sources claiming the sheriff has blocked federal access to key forensic evidence. Critics on social media, including podcaster Zack Peter, have blasted the local handling of the case as “butchered” and “disengaged.”

Despite the friction, the search continues across the rugged Arizona terrain as volunteers ignore official requests to stay away from the active crime scene. Investigators have been searching for signals from Nancy’s Bluetooth-enabled pacemaker in hopes of finding a location. “We know that millions of you have been praying,” Savannah said, urging the public to continue “praying without ceasing” for any sign of her mother.

The $1 million family reward is in addition to the $100,000 previously offered by the FBI for information leading to an arrest. Authorities have received over 20,000 tips but have yet to name a suspect or person of interest. For the Guthrie family, the goal remains a “glorious, miraculous homecoming” or at least a final answer to the nightmare that began more than three weeks ago.
