David Spade Slams Mall For Omitting The Word “Christmas”

Comedian David Spade launched a blistering attack on political correctness, slamming a mall’s tree-lighting ceremony for deliberately omitting the word “Christmas.” The “Grown Ups” star confirmed that the Christian holiday is “taking a little bit of a beating lately.”

On his “Fly on the Wall” podcast, Spade confirmed the mall organizers consciously avoided any mention of the holiday. He asked, “But to consciously avoid that, then what is the tree for?”

Spade called the move absurd. He added, “Is it a Lexus dealership? Why do we have — for the whole month? Isn’t it for Christmas?”

Co-host Dana Carvey agreed that the political correction has gone too far. Carvey noted that he has “never met someone from another religious faith that was upset about a Christmas tree.”

Spade urged the politically correct “thought police” to stop. He said, “I’d say stop that bulls—.” Carvey added, “Everyone loves Santa and the tree and all the trappings.”

Spade then connected the American cultural battle to a global double standard. He said, “I don’t like the anti-Christian feel because Christmas to me wasn’t really about that.”

He noted that the Christian faith is treated differently than other religions. Spade asked, “Like is this where we get the hammer? You can’t say that about anyone else.” He somberly concluded, “It’s like this is not the year to be Christian. I will tell you that.”
