Customer Suffering From Trump Derangement Syndrome Tells Restaurant They’re Not Coming Back…Their Response Is Awesome!

Recently, an individual visited a deli/BBQ restaurant in Redding, California and they weren’t too happy with what they saw there.

It wasn’t the food, it wasn’t the service, it was the fact another case of Trump Derangement Syndrome. One of the cashiers was wearing a Trump 2020 button and this particular customer was so appalled that she has an opinion opposite of theirs, that they send them a message through Facebook to let them know how they felt.

Here is what the customer said:

“I won’t return to your establishment when you have a cashier with a Trump 2020 button on her shirt. We’ve been going to your business for years and I have never been more shocked. Give me a break!”

And this was the awesome response from the deli:

“We are very sorry to be losing you as a customer. We are very open-minded people and accept people for whatever their beliefs or affiliations are. We feel very strongly that we are so lucky to live in a country that affords us the freedoms that our constitution allows us. Life is so short. You can choose to work together or be a hateful person. We wish you well on your endeavors of finding an eating establishment where every employee is silent in their beliefs. In the meantime, we will continue to run our business with an open mind and heart. There is too much hate and anger in this world that you are choosing to be part of. I hope you consider being part of the solution instead of joining forces with those attempting to tear this country apart.

The owners of the deli did share a little more about the incident on their Facebook page:

All of us at Dill’s Deli would like to thank our families, friends, loyal customers, and way too many strangers to even count, for your support and kind words. Briefly, we had an unfortunate customer encounter over an employee wearing a political button that escalated into a social media event that took on a life of its own.

Over the past several days we experienced an outpouring of community love and support that was overwhelming, with people from all walks of life coming together to stand in solidarity with us. We discovered that we all have a lot more in common than we have been led to believe. We received phone calls and messages from those of you who were unable to show up in person to support us. It was a very humbling experience.

It gave us hope that we can pull together and set aside our political, religious, and cultural difference and just be a community of caring people. We will not silence our employees or our customers, but we will insist that everyone treat each other with respect while you are inside our doors.

Our business is to provide good food prepared the way you want for a reasonable price. Our customers use our restaurant to meet friends, have a business meeting, catch time with their families, or sit quietly over a meal. We are proud to be part of this community and this country. We will continue to serve our good customers by providing good service and good food. We don’t care what your political affiliations are or what you choose to believe in. Just be nice about it.

Thank you,
Mike and Jessica Dill
