HomeNews WireAG Barr Makes Strong Recommendation for Dealing with Violent Rioters Editor September 21, 2020 Attorney General Bill Barr isn't holding back at all when it comes to putting Black Lives Matter and Antifa terrorists behind bars. These criminals have done irreparable harm to our country and they must not go unpunished. Barr is making the recommendation to federal prosecutors to charge these domestic terrorists with sedition. The seditious conspiracy statute, 18 U.S. Code § 2384, is a means of punishing those who conspire to violently overthrow or who oppose by force the authority the U.S. government or who by force conspire to seize federal property: If two or more persons in any State or Territory, or in any place subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, conspire to overthrow, put down, or to destroy by force the Government of the United States, or to levy war against them, or to oppose by force the authority thereof, or by force to prevent, hinder, or delay the execution of any law of the United States, or by force to seize, take, or possess any property of the United States contrary to the authority thereof, they shall each be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both. Until now, sedition has been highly unusual because most people respected America and had enough common sense to not try and overthrow the government. Consequently, if people urge the end of the United States or the dissolution of its government, but they do not contemplate accomplishing these objectives by force, then there is no crime. And even if people do contemplate using force against others, including others who happen to be government officials, there is still no seditious-conspiracy offense unless force is to be used to attack the United States, or to destroy or impede the functions of the U.S. government. Congress has proscribed a straightforward offense: Force must be used, or at least contemplated, with the specific intent to strike at the United States or its government. Therefore, the fact that the word “sedition” may be fraught with ambiguity and dark historical overtones is irrelevant. I think that this is a great route to go as far as keeping these people off the streets and would also serve to deter others from following that path as well. Satchuel Cole, who was born Jennifer Benton to white parents, came clean after a report from BlackIndyLive.com revealed that she was not black. The outlet discovered Benton’s yearbook photos and legal documents that proved her parents were white and that she once identified as white.
