President Donald Trump made gains in key swing states last election. Now, a deep-blue Northeast state might be shifting to purple.
“Hear me loudly and clearly: New Jersey is in play,” Scott Presler told “The Ingraham Angle” Monday.
Presler, a conservative activist, is working to register Republican voters. He believes recent election results have energized conservatives in New Jersey. The GOP, he says, has a real shot at breaking through.
His group, Early Vote Action, is focused on registering new Republican voters. The organization’s tagline? “Electing Republicans by registering Republicans.” Presler says it’s working.
“At EarlyVoteAction.com, we are employing a 21-county strategy,” he said. “We’re not only going to Essex and Camden, but we’re going to Sussex and Warren, and even red areas to drive up the turnout and make sure that every voice is heard.”
Last November, Trump gained ground in all seven battleground states, including Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Georgia. But the biggest surprises came in traditionally blue states like New York and New Jersey.
In New Jersey, Trump’s performance jumped nearly five percentage points. That’s the best showing for a Republican presidential candidate in over 30 years.
Presler says the GOP has taken notice. More funding and staff are coming to New Jersey ahead of the 2025 elections.
“We’re going to have more funding than ever, we’re going to have more staffers than ever. The RNC is on board,” he said. “To my beautiful people at home, New Jersey is in play.”
The New Jersey governor’s race is already heating up. A crowded field is vying to replace Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy, who is term-limited. In 2021, Murphy won by just three points against Republican Jack Ciattarelli.
The last Republican governor was Chris Christie, who served from 2010 to 2018. Presler hopes to change that.
“I am here to reach as many people as I can to get them registered and to empower them to vote on Tuesday, November 4th, 2025,” he said. “I am so excited to be in the Garden State.”
