President Trump Issues Stern Warning to Republican Congressman

President Donald Trump is putting Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie on notice. After Massie opposed the president’s strike on Iran, Trump fired back — hard.

Over the weekend, Trump announced that U.S. forces had bombed Iran’s nuclear facilities. Massie, a frequent critic of Trump, called the move unconstitutional and joined Democrat Ro Khanna in introducing a resolution to limit the president’s war powers. That didn’t sit well with Trump.

“Congressman Thomas Massie of Kentucky is not MAGA, even though he likes to say he is,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “Actually, MAGA doesn’t want him, doesn’t know him, and doesn’t respect him.”

Trump accused Massie of siding with Iran and described him as a “simple minded ‘grandstander.’” He warned that the congressman’s stance would allow Iran to gain nuclear weapons while shouting “DEATH TO AMERICA.” The president pledged to campaign against him personally.

White House Deputy Chief of Staff James Blair backed up the threat. “I hope Thomas Massie is enjoying his last term in Congress,” he posted. Hours later, Axios reported Trump’s political team was already working to unseat him.

Massie has beaten primary challengers before, but this time could be different. Trump’s base is strong in Kentucky, and his endorsement carries weight. Still, Massie told Axios that polling shows he has firm support in his district.

The Kentucky congressman has often stood apart from his party. He voted against Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill,” citing deficit concerns. He also broke with the GOP on revenge porn legislation, which was supported by First Lady Melania Trump.

“Any serious person considering running should spend money on an independent poll before letting swampy consultants take them for an embarrassing ride,” Massie told Axios in response to Trump’s latest move.
