Georgia Man Charged With Threats Against Tulsi Gabbard: ‘Prepare to Die’

The Department of Justice (DOJ) announced Monday it charged a Georgia man with sending violent threats against the head of the Trump administration’s intelligence community.

Aliakbar Mohammad Amin, 24, allegedly sent threats to Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard and her family over text and social media posts, the DOJ said in a press release. The announcement follows a week full of charges related to violent animosity against Republicans and the Trump administration.

“Death to America means death to America literally, Tulsi is living on borrowed time,” Amin said in a text message to an unknown recipient, according to the DOJ. “The home you two own . . . is a legitimate target and will be hit at a time and place of our choosing,” he allegedly texted regarding Gabbard’s family. “Prepare to die, you, Tulsi, and everyone you hold dear,” Amin allegedly said in another text. “America will burn.”

Amin’s social media posts allegedly included an “image of a firearm pointed at a photograph of DNI Gabbard and her husband,” according to the DOJ. Federal agents reportedly found a firearm during a search of Amin’s home. The FBI arrested him Friday night, according to the press release.

The DOJ did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the Daily Caller News Foundation. Court records do not yet list Amin’s case or an attorney to contact.

Also on Monday, federal prosecutors charged a New Mexico man with arson against Trump administration adviser Elon Musk’s Tesla company and the Republican Party of New Mexico (RPNM) headquarters. The DOJ accused another man from Butler, Pennsylvania of threatening Musk, immigration agents, and President Donald Trump himself, the agency announced Friday.

The Trump administration has formed an FBI task force centered around catching rising numbers of alleged Tesla vandals. Officials say the increase in political violence has become a key concern.

“Let this be the final lesson to those taking part in this ongoing wave of political violence,” Attorney General Pamela Bondi said in a release about the New Mexico case. “We will arrest you, we will prosecute you, and we will not negotiate. Crimes have consequences.”
