Kayleigh McEnany Mocks Democrats for New ‘Buzzword’ Against Trump

Former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany called out Democrats for their latest claim that the U.S. is in a “constitutional crisis” under President Donald Trump. She said it shows they’ve learned nothing from the failed rhetoric used during the 2024 election.

Top Democratic lawmakers are sounding alarms. They claim Trump and Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) head Elon Musk’s efforts to cut wasteful spending have created a crisis. McEnany compared it to their old “threat to democracy” buzzword, saying it’s another failed attempt to sway Americans.

“[Democratic New Jersey Sen.] Andy Kim, he went on to say, ‘we’re on the cusp of a constitutional crisis,’” McEnany pointed out. “That’s the new buzzword. [Democratic Connecticut Sen.] Chris Murphy said it too. It’s like they haven’t learned that this extreme rhetoric doesn’t work.” McEnany added, “What happened to [House Minority Leader] Hakeem Jeffries talking about shutdowns hurting working people? That logic is out the window 60 days later.”

Fox News contributor Guy Benson called out Democrats for saying, “no one elected Elon Musk.” He pointed out the party’s long-standing support for unelected federal bureaucrats and accused them of hypocrisy.

On Feb. 3, Trump and Musk dismantled the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). The agency had spent billions on left-wing causes, including a $2 million grant for sex change operations in Guatemala and distributing millions of condoms overseas. Trump appointed Secretary of State Marco Rubio as acting director of USAID.

Democratic lawmakers ramped up the rhetoric on Sunday talk shows. Sen. Chris Murphy warned of “the most serious constitutional crisis the country has ever faced.” Sen. Andy Kim said on NBC’s Meet the Press that the U.S. is on the “cusp of a constitutional crisis” and accused Trump of preparing to shut down the government.

The tension escalated at a Feb. 4 protest outside the Department of Treasury. Democratic Massachusetts Rep. Ayanna Pressley vowed to set “fire” to the Republican Party. She called Musk a “Nazi nutball baby” and a “godless, lawless billionaire.” Democratic Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar warned the dismantling of USAID will lead to violence.

On Friday, several congressional Democrats stormed the Department of Education in protest. They opposed Trump’s plan to shut down the agency over its failure to boost student test scores. Despite $190 billion spent on education since COVID-19, students’ scores in math, reading, and science have not improved.
