Doug Emhoff, VP Kamala Harris’ husband, denied a report accusing him of slapping a former girlfriend in 2012.
Fox News couldn’t confirm the claims from the Daily Mail’s story.
“This report is untrue,” said a representative for Emhoff. They insisted he’s never hit a woman.
The report described an altercation with a woman known only as “Jane.” Allegedly, Emhoff slapped her after she flirted with a valet.
Neither the Harris campaign nor Emhoff’s ex-wife commented.
Many media outlets haven’t been able to confirm the story. The New York Times has not covered it.
The article relied on three anonymous sources, friends of Jane. They shared details about the alleged incident, including photos and itineraries.
One source claimed Emhoff hit Jane so hard she spun around. She then slapped him back in anger.
Another friend recalled a sobbing phone call from Jane after the alleged event.
The third friend said Jane told her more details in 2018 when Kamala Harris gained attention for her questioning of a Supreme Court nominee.
All sources said Jane hit Emhoff back and that they never saw each other again after the trip to France.
The New York Post criticized Emhoff following the report, dubbing him “Worst Gentleman.”
Emhoff recently appeared on MSNBC, where host Jen Psaki praised his support for women and his role in reshaping the perception of masculinity.
Critics highlighted Emhoff’s past admission of an affair with his children’s nanny.
Emhoff addressed his past actions, saying he took responsibility and moved forward with his family.
Emhoff’s first wife and he share two children, and Harris has helped co-parent them since their marriage in 2014.
