“Like A Full Diaper”: Dan Bongino Torches Corporate Media Over Crime Record

Former FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino didn’t hold back Thursday evening when addressing the corporate media’s refusal to credit the Trump administration for a historic drop in violent crime. During an appearance on Hannity, Bongino compared outlets like Axios and the New York Times to “a full diaper,” slamming their contradictory and biased reporting. He argued that the media remains desperate to find excuses for why the country is becoming safer under current leadership.

The data supports Bongino’s outrage, as 2025 saw the largest one-year drop in homicides in American history. According to the Council on Criminal Justice, the homicide rate plummeted by 21% across nearly three dozen major U.S. cities. “Murder rates [are] at an all-time low, violent crimes at a near all-time low,” Bongino noted. “I mean, what freaking country are these morons living in?”

Bongino highlighted the absurdity of a New York Times headline claiming the FBI has made America “less safe” appearing on the same day as reports of record-low crime. He blasted the “media morons” for having zero real-world experience in law enforcement or public safety. “These are people who’ve never spent a day wearing a badge, never kicked in a door, never arrested some child predator,” Bongino stated firmly.

The Trump administration took aggressive action on crime immediately upon taking office on January 20, 2025. This included an executive order to pursue the death penalty more vigorously and a federal takeover of Washington, D.C.’s police department. These measures were enacted to restore order following a surge in lawlessness, including a brutal carjacking that injured a federal staffer.

The results of these “law and order” policies extend far beyond the homicide rate. Carjackings have dropped by a massive 43%, robberies are down 23%, and gun assaults have fallen by 22% compared to the previous year. “This isn’t hard to figure out,” Bongino argued, pointing to the obvious correlation between strong enforcement and safer streets.

Bongino concluded by listing a string of successes the media continues to ignore or spin into “Armageddon.” He cited near-zero illegal border crossings, contained inflation, and projected GDP growth of up to 6% as clear wins for the administration. For Bongino, the media’s refusal to acknowledge these “not small items” proves they are completely out of touch with the reality of American life.
