AT&T Eliminates All DEI Programs And Hiring Quotas

AT&T is finally scrapping its divisive diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs, becoming the latest major corporation to embrace merit-based employment. The telecommunications giant is ending the policies under heavy pressure from the Trump administration. This is a massive victory for common sense over the woke agenda.

The company, which has 100,000 U.S. employees, wrote a letter to FCC Chair Brendan Carr on Monday confirming the move. AT&T cited “recent shifts in the legal landscape” as the reason for eliminating its discriminatory policies.

AT&T’s senior executive David McAtee confirmed the company’s commitment to equal opportunity. He wrote, “AT&T has always stood for merit-based opportunity, and we are pleased to reaffirm our commitment to equal employment opportunity and nondiscrimination today.”

The decision is especially welcome considering the ugly nature of AT&T’s prior DEI training. Conservative activists revealed the training previously told White employees they “are the problem” and called racism a “uniquely white trait.”

FCC Chairman Brendan Carr has vowed to use every tool at his disposal to eliminate these programs from the companies his agency regulates. Carr confirmed the win on X, saying AT&T had “memorialized its commitment to ending DEI-related policies” in the official filing.

The move comes as AT&T is seeking crucial FCC approval for a $1.02 billion wireless spectrum license purchase. This confirms that the Trump administration has made meritocracy a condition for corporate transactions.

AT&T’s competitors, including major carriers Verizon Communications and T-Mobile, have already ended their own DEI programs. This signals a total shift in the telecom industry away from racialist ideology and quotas.

AT&T confirmed that the company will no longer have any roles focused on DEI, writing that “it is AT&T’s longstanding practice to pay and advance individuals based on merit and qualification.” McAtee confirmed that the company removed all DEI training and will not use hiring quotas based on race, sex, or sexual orientation.
