President Trump made it crystal clear Tuesday that he’s not playing games when it comes to Hamas disarming in Gaza.
During a press conference after meeting with Argentine President Javier Milei, a reporter pressed him about the newly signed ceasefire deal and asked if Hamas would really give up its weapons.
“They’re going to disarm because they said they were going to disarm,” Trump said firmly. “And if they don’t disarm, we will disarm them.”
When the reporter challenged him on how that would happen, Trump didn’t hesitate. “I don’t have to explain that to you,” he shot back. “They know I’m not playing games.”
Trump also praised the “monumental” release of Israeli hostages earlier in the week, while acknowledging that it’s still unclear how many victims remain unaccounted for. He noted that Hamas had also eliminated “a number of very bad gangs,” adding bluntly, “That didn’t bother me much, to be honest with you.”
The former president compared the situation to how his administration handled violent Venezuelan gangs trying to enter the U.S. — saying he “cleaned up crime” in Washington, D.C., and would do the same abroad if necessary.
Returning to Hamas, Trump doubled down: “If they don’t disarm, we will disarm them — and it’ll happen quickly, and perhaps violently.”
As the reporter tried to move on, Trump cut in again to drive the point home: “They will disarm. Do you understand me?”
When asked how long it would take, Trump simply said it would happen “in a reasonable period of time — pretty quickly.”
