KFC Caves In To Fans, Brings Back Favorite Menu Item From the 90s

Fast food chains are on a nostalgia kick. McDonald’s Snack Wrap made a comeback, but it’s not the only blast from the past hitting menus.

Taco Bell has rolled out its Decades Menu, complete with Cool Ranch Doritos Locos Tacos and the Chili Cheese Burrito. KFC also gave in to years of begging and brought back its famous Potato Wedges.

Now, the chicken giant is digging even deeper into its vault. After nonstop fan demands, KFC is reviving its Original Honey BBQ sauce.

The sauce first hit restaurants in the late ‘90s. Fans loved it on wings, calling it crunchy, sticky, sweet, and full of flavor. But KFC pulled it in the early 2000s, leaving customers desperate for its return.

Social media has been packed with posts from people who said their “heart yearns” for the saucy wings. Some even ranked it as KFC’s best flavor of all time.

Starting Oct. 6, the Original Honey BBQ sauce makes its big comeback. And this time, it’s not limited to wings.

Customers can dunk nearly anything in it — fried chicken, tenders, sandwiches, and yes, the wings that started it all.

For fans, it’s a sweet victory years in the making.
